About Ashlee.
Ashlee was 15 years old when a car wreck changed her life.
She was a focused young lady with so many choices left in her life. She was so outgoing and fun loving.
Her plan was to be an architect.
A drunk driver crossed the center line in the road and hit her head on and changed that plan
She survived and now lives a dependent life. So many years of hospitals and continued therapy for her fighting to get control of her body again.
So many emotions for friends and family that have watched Ashlee have to fight for her life after that split second that changed everything.
Her and her family have made a commitment to use her story to make a difference.
Ashlee shares her story with schools and churches and anyone who invites us to speak and share.
She participates with Sudden Impact of Louisiana at University Medical Center (UMC). This program teaches the impact of poor decision making behind the steering wheel. The students that attend are usually the same age as Ashlee (15) was when her life changed direction due to that terrible night.
We tell the students about the consequences of poor decisions and the power of their choices. We help them understand that this impact is permanent, and life changing. Hopefully we help them realize how to reduce the risk of this happening to them and their family.
The power of your choices can make a difference!
